Albert L. Dearing, age 81, Webb City, Mo., passed away Jan. 12, 2009, at Landmark Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Webb City, on Dec. 6, 1927, and spent his life there. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Lawrence-Sanders Insurance Agency until 1981, and then worked for Union Transfer and Storage until he retired. Albert loved golf, playing pool and he enjoyed the company of his friends at morning coffee. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Webb City.

He was an excellent athlete in high school and president of his senior class of 1946. He made golf clubs, birdhouses and frames. He loved working with his hands. Al was well known in Webb City and had many friends in the community.

Albert married Patricia J. (Poole) Dearing in 1961. She preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Dearing, of St. Louis, Mo., and Scott Dearing, Joplin, Mo.; and one daughter, Kim Bonet and her husband, Craig, Webb City. He has one granddaughter, Whitney.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Elder Richard Trimble will officiate. Visitation will follow the service at the chapel.
