Missouri pushed past 100,000 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

On Saturday, the department reported 1,974 new cases, bringing the state's total to 101,134, with 1,704 deaths now recorded since the first fatality in Missouri in March.

Meanwhile, the number of active Joplin cases climbed to 195, according to the city of Joplin, which is also a new record.
