Felony drug charges have been filed against three suspects arrested recently by Joplin police.

Yolanda D. Smith, 29, and Georgi D. Allison, 39, both of Joplin, were arrested when a vehicle they were in was stopped Friday near Fourth Street and High Avenue. Joplin police Lt. Charla Geller said a search of the vehicle allegedly turned up some drug pipes in a purse and a bag containing methamphetamine under the front passenger seat.

Smith, the driver, was charged with felony possession of meth, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license. Allison was charged with felony possession of meth.

An officer’s attempt to serve some warrants Saturday in the 1800 block of South Empire Avenue led to the arrest of Misty D. York, 35, of Joplin, on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor offense of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and three outstanding warrants. A syringe containing meth and some narcotic pills allegedly were seized in the course of York’s arrest, according to Geller.
