An Asbury man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday on Missouri Highway 126, about 20 miles west of Lamar in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Michael J. Breneman, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Tucker Jostra. The body was received by Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.
The patrol said Breneman’s vehicle, which was going east, ran off the left side of the road and struck a driveway embankment. That caused the vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole.
• One person was injured in a moped accident at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday on Jasper County Road 290, three miles north of Asbury, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Jessie E. Davis, 19, of Pittsburg, Kansas, driver of the moped, sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
The patrol said Davis attempted to avoid hitting a deer and his vehicle ran off the road.
• A Diamond man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday on Missouri Route V, two miles west of Diamond in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Elliott Foster, 27, driver of the vehicle, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
The patrol said Foster’s vehicle, which was going east, ran off the right side of the road when he overcorrected and it ran off the left side of the road and overturned.
• Two people were injured at noon Tuesday in an all-terrain vehicle accident on private property two miles east of Jane in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Malcolm D. Harrison, 76, the driver, and Sue Harrison, 70, both of Eagle Rock, sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to Mercy Hospital at Rogers, Arkansas.
The patrol said Harrison, who was going north, lost control of the ATV while traveling down a steep trail. The vehicle overturned.
