A 68-year-old woman was killed and a 77-year-old woman injured at 2:30 p.m. Thursday when an unoccupied vehicle rolled down a driveway in Shell Knob and struck both of them, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Bobbie J. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene by a Barry County deputy coroner, the state patrol said. Judith A. Betts was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Springfield with minor injuries, the patrol said. Both victims are from Shell Knob.

The patrol said a Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 rolled backward down a driveway, striking Betts before continuing onto Villa Vinee Circle, where it struck Harris.

• A Goodman woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:40 a.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 43, 7 miles north of Southwest City in McDonald County, the state patrol said.

Linda Lee, 26, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

She was driving a northbound vehicle that ran off the road and struck an embankment, the patrol said.

• A Carthage woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:38 p.m. Wednesday on Cimarron Road, 4 miles west of Carthage in Jasper County, the state patrol said.

Johnna S. Sweet, 49, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with moderate injuries.

She was driving an eastbound car that ran off the road and struck a concrete culvert, the patrol said.
