A stabbing victim transported to a Joplin hospital early Monday morning claimed to be unsure what happened to him and told police he did not wish to pursue charges against anyone.

Capt. Trevor Duncan said officers responded to a report about 2:30 a.m. that a man had knocked on the door of a residence near the intersection of Sergeant Avenue and Sixth Street seeking help for a stab wound to his neck. Corey L. Osier-Woods, 25, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Joplin for treatment of the injury.

Duncan said Osier-Woods said he suffered the injury at a residence on West 32nd Street but gave varying accounts of what happened and ultimately did not provide police with any information they might follow up. Consequently, the matter was cleared without further investigation, he said.
