A bicyclist from Carthage sustained serious injuries after being struck by two vehicles at 7:05 p.m. Saturday on Fairview Road half a mile west of Carthage in Jasper County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Kal M. Johnson, 43, was westbound without proper lighting equipment when he was struck from behind by a westbound car driven by Donna C. Ogle, 72, of Carthage. The accident knocked Johnson into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Michael T. Morgan, 20, of Carthage, which also struck him, according to the patrol.

Johnson was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Joplin. Neither driver was injured.

• A Frisco, Texas, man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 10:01 p.m. on Interstate 49 two miles north of Irwin in Barton County, the patrol reported.

Lance L. Ballew, 53, was northbound, when his vehicle left the road, struck the ditch and overturned, according to the patrol. He was taken to Barton County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

• A Seligman teen was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6 p.m. Saturday on Route KK one mile north of the Arkansas state line in McDonald County, the patrol reported.

Adan M. Ramirez, 16, was northbound when he lost control of the vehicle, ran off the left side of the road, struck the ditch and overturned, the patrol said.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with minor injuries. A passenger, Landon J. Hendrix, 16, of Washburn, was not injured.

• An Aurora man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 1:43 p.m. Saturday on Missouri Highway 174 three miles west of Republic in Greene County, the patrol reported.

Steven R. Sanders, 29, was westbound when his vehicle ran off the road and struck two trees, according to the patrol.

He was taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield.

• A Neosho man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on Lime Kiln Road one mile north of Neosho in Newton County, according to the patrol.

Robert L. Garlett, 78, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

The patrol reported that the vehicle Garlett was driving went off the right side of the road, then the left side, then overturned.
