The Kansas Lottery Commission today voted to extend the application deadline for a casino manager in the Southeast Gaming Zone until April 21 if no applications are filed by the current deadline of Jan. 21.

No applications have been filed so far for the zone, comprising Crawford and Cherokee counties.

The procedure for establishing a state-owned casino in Southeast Kansas was restarted after Penn National Gaming abandoned its plan for a Cherokee County casino in September.
