Several road and bridge projects are planned or under way, according to the Joplin Public Works Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Heavy excavation equipment is in use next to the driving lanes of Geneva Avenue, south of 20th Street.
Construction work and utility adjustments continue on 32nd Street from Main Street to Freeman Hospital West.
Intermittent construction work continues on Main Street between Fourth and Sixth streets.
Brownell Avenue will carry one lane of traffic at times from Zora Street to Wickersham Road.
The northbound, outside lane of Maiden Lane will be closed for utility repairs from 17th Street to Junge Boulevard.
Heavy equipment is in use at Langston Hughes-Broadway and St. Louis Avenue.
A bridge is temporarily closed, and barriers and warning signs will be posted in each direction on Virginia Avenue between 36th and 37th streets.
Traffic signal work is to start this week, and motorists should be prepared for a four-way stop at Fourth Street and St. Louis Avenue.
Crews will repair shoulders on Business 60 in Aurora; patch pavement on Missouri 97, and routes NN, UU and K; install road signs on U.S. 60; and mow along Route Z and Business 60.
Crews will mow along routes F, EE, A, C, CC, V and FF.
Route D will be reduced to one lane today near Route E for utility work.
Crews will mow along U.S. 160, Missouri 245 and routes A and N; and patch pavement on routes E and F and Missouri 97.
The Route HH bridge near Carthage is closed until Aug. 18 for reconstruction. The detour is U.S. 71 and Missouri 171.
Eastbound and westbound Interstate 44 will be closed at 15-minute intervals from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday near Sarcoxie for phone line repairs.
Route O will be reduced to one lane Wednesday to Friday near Route D for bridge repairs.
Route D will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to noon Sunday between Fourth Street and Austin Street in Webb City for resurfacing.
Crews will resurface routes FF, P and D; seal the Shoal Creek bridge on westbound I-44; seal pavement on Route E; and paint pavement stripes on Missouri 96, Route V and Missouri 571.
Various eastbound and westbound lanes on I-44 will be closed all week from Mount Vernon to Missouri 174 for resurfacing.
Eastbound I-44 will be reduced to one lane all week from Missouri 96 to Route O for pavement repairs.
Missouri 96 will be reduced to one lane all week from Missouri 97 to Missouri 39 for repairs.
Missouri 37 will be reduced to one lane today and Tuesday near I-44 for resurfacing.
The Truitt Creek bridge on Missouri 39, near Missouri 174, will be reduced to one lane all week for repairs.
Route K will be reduced to one lane today from Missouri 39 to Route ZZ for resurfacing.
Business 60 will be reduced to one lane Thursday and Friday near U.S. 60 for repairs.
Crews will mow along Missouri 14, Missouri 97, and routes P, K, ZZ, OO, V and J; and work on ditches on Missouri 97, north of the YY junction.
A contractor will work on bridges at Elk River, Goodin Hollow and Route H.
A contractor will install shoulders and remove the old bridge over Sugar Creek. Scheduled completion of the new bridge is Nov. 15.
Missouri 59 will be reduced to one lane Tuesday through Friday near Missouri 90 for bridge repairs.
A contractor will lay asphalt all week on U.S. 60 from Missouri 59 to Business 71.
Various eastbound and westbound lanes of I-44 will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. all week from Highway 166 to Business 71 (Range Line Road) for resurfacing.
Various eastbound and westbound lanes of I-44 will be closed all week from Business 71 (Range Line Road) to the Oklahoma state line for guard-cable installation. The speed limit is 60 mph when workers are present.
U.S. 60 will be reduced to one lane all week from Missouri 59 to U.S. 71 for resurfacing.
Northbound U.S. 71 will be reduced to one lane today near Route D for repairs.
Northbound U.S. 71 is closed at the Marmaton River bridge and remains closed throughout the summer while a contractor replaces the bridge. All traffic is on the southbound lanes.
Route E will be reduced to one lane all week from U.S. 71 to Route NN for pavement repairs.
Crews will repair shoulders on U.S. 71 and patch pavement on Route E.
