A Noel woman was killed in a two-vehicle wreck at 3:25 p.m. Saturday on Missouri Highway 90 a quarter-mile south of Noel in McDonald County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Doris A. Herndez-Barrios, 55, was southbound when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a northbound truck driven by James W. Thurman, 42, of Noel, according to the patrol.

Herndez-Barrios was pronounced dead at the scene and her body taken to Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. Thurman had moderate injuries and was taken to Freeman Health System in Neosho.

• A Joplin teen was injured in a motorcycle crash at 4:30 a.m. Friday a half-mile south of Joplin on Coyote Drive, the patrol reported.

Larken C. Taylor, 18, was northbound when she ran off the right side of the road and was thrown from the vehicle, the patrol said. She was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with minor injuries.
