Antonio Givens is set to join the Pittsburg State men’s basketball team, according to a press release on Thursday.
Givens, a 6-foot, 9-inch forward, will have junior eligibility for the Gorillas next year after transferring from NCAA Division I Kent State.
“We are excited to add Antonio to our program,” Gorillas head coach Kim Anderson said in the release.
“He gives us some much-needed size on the inside and will serve as a defensive presence in the middle. He has improved greatly, especially during his redshirt year at Kent State. We believe his best basketball is ahead of him.”
Givens redshirted in his only season at Kent State after playing his freshman and sophomore seasons at Wabash Valley College. He averaged 3.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Warriors in 2017-18, shooting 62.5 percent from the field.
Givens is the sixth player to sign with Pittsburg State for the 2019-20 season, joining guard/forward Jacob Coleman, forward Matt Horton, guard Jalen Justice, guard Jah-Kobe Womack and forward Xavier Womack.
