COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Lamar girls had a slew of all-state finishes on the way to finishing 13th in the team standings at the Class 3 state track and field meet on Saturday at Walton Stadium on the campus of the University of Missouri.
Kyleigh Talbott led the way for the Tigers with a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.04 seconds. Ashley Lawrence finished third in the javelin with a heave of 130 feet, 8 inches. Coti Beem took seventh in the pole vault with a clearance of 10-0, while Hallee Doss took seventh in the 100 in a time of 15.35.
Lauren Compton finished in ninth in the high jump with a mark of 5-0, while the team of Kara Morey, Jordan Lee, Abigal Kluhsman and Josey Adams finished 14th in the 4x800-relay in a time of 10:36.40.
Mount Vernon’s Sadie Heisner had three all-state finishes in her four events, taking fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 11-0, sixth in the 100 in a time of 15.16 and seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 35-4.75. She added a 10th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 15-11.75.
Seneca’s Chaney Platner took sixth in the javelin with a mark of 121-5, while Taylor Mailes placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 16-10.50. Haley Miller (34-8.75) placed 14th in the shot put.
Cassville’s Kyren Postlewait placed fourth in the shot put, with a heave of 39-3.5. Jordyn Stafford registered a seventh-place time in the 1600 with a finishing time of 5:29.20. Stafford also finished in 10th in the 3200 in a time of 12:36.49. The 4x100 relay team of Hannah Hackler, Postlewait, Parker Marple and Kennedy Parnell took ninth in a time of 51 seconds flat.
Aurora’s Kaci Singer had an all-state finish in the 3200, taking eighth with a time of 12:19.19, while Aubrey Boatwright (12:39.37) took 11th. Boatwright placed 14th in the 800 in a time of 2:35.17.
East Newton’s Mackenzie Massey placed seventh in the 300 in a time of 47.35.
In boys action, East Newton’s 4x800 relay team of Kelton Sorrell, Camden Lazure, Jacob Bennion and Gabe Bergen earned a first-place finish with a time of 8:13.23, more than two seconds better than second-place Herculaneum.
Lamar’s Kolin Overstreet took third in the 1600 in a time of 4:29.35, while Joe Kremp took third in 3200 for the Tigers in a time of 9:53.31. Kremp (4:35.77) added and eighth-place finish in the 1600. Lamar’s 4x800 team of Trey Evans, Kremp, Chase Davey and Overstreet took eighth with a time of 8:24.92.
Landon Hardman took 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 41-1.75, while the Tigers’ 4x100 relay team of Dylan Lee, Davey, Justin Walker and Hardman finished 13th in a time of 44.88. Overstreet (2:05.69) took 11th in the 800.
Aurora’s 4x200 team (1:31.84) of Logan Lauffer, Jacob Rohlman, Dalton Thornton and Jess Williams placed sixth, while the same team took 10th in the 4x100 in a time of 44.51.
Cassville’s Garrett Kritz placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 47-7.25.
East Newton’s Bennion (10:33.98) added a ninth-place time in the 3200, while Sorrell took 14th in the 1600 in a time of 4:54.23. Davis Turner (19-11.50) placed 12th in the long jump, and the 4x400 team of Wyatt Moore, Camden Lazure, Sorrell and Bergen took 14th in a time of 3:37.07.
Mount Vernon’s Tristan Gaddis (10:39.69) took 10th in the 3200, while Kelly Vaughn (2:06.83) placed 12th in the 800. Mount Vernon’s 4x800 team of Vaughn, Tucker Bittick, Gaddis and Sam Herbert took 11th in a time of 8:33.42.
