The Chillicothe Mudcats snapped the Joplin Outlaws’ three-game winning streak with a 13-8 triumph in a MINK League contest Wednesday night at Joe Becker Stadium.

The Mudcats (6-3, 6-3 MINK) plated the first six runs of the game and led Joplin (5-7, 1-7) by as many as eight as they amassed 16 hits.

Joplin plated five straight runs to trim a six-run deficit to one by the start of the fifth inning. But Chillicothe answered with a four-run fifth, a one-run sixth and then a two-run seventh to extend its lead to 13-5. The Outlaws capped the scoring with three runs in the eighth.

Chillicothe had eight players log hits, with five posting multiple hits. Logan Eickhoff led the team in hitting, going 4-for-6 with one run batted in and two runs scored, while Jack Grace finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Nolan Metcalf went 3-for-5 and crossed home plate four times while Tate Wargo and Dom Trevino registered two hits and two runs scored apiece.

The Outlaws’ offense was paced by Alec Capshaw, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Lorber and David Butterfield notched two hits apiece and batted in two runs and one run, respectively.

The Outlaws, who claimed a 20-10 run-rule victory over the Mudcats on Tuesday, cap their three-game home series with Chillicothe tonight at 7.
